Catalina Leichner is an Argentine contemporary artist born in Buenos Aires and currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Her work, developed primarily in watercolour and oil painting, combines poetic sensitivity with a strong technical foundation.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino (UMSA). With years of professional experience at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Catalina brings to her artistic practice a deep understanding of materials, pictorial tradition, and the long-term preservation of artworks.
Inspired by nature and its symbolic language, she creates intimate compositions where flora, fauna, and the human figure interact in a delicate balance between the real and the dreamlike. Her paintings invite a contemplative pause, celebrating the beauty of the natural world while reminding us of the essential connection between human beings and the land they inhabit.
Each piece reflects a refined aesthetic search in which colour, transparency, and painterly matter create immersive and timeless atmospheres.
